Generating call number reports

These reports help you locate incorrectly cataloged copy records. By correcting these records, call number search results and collection statistics reports can be more accurate and complete.

Copies with call number prefixes lists all of the call number prefixes in your collection and the copies that have them.

Copies with different call numbers lists the titles with copies that do not all have the same call number.

Copies without call numbers lets you locate incomplete copy records.
Because Import Titles and conversions may include copy records without call numbers, you may want to run this report after adding copy records.

How do I generate the report?

1. Open the Library or Media page of Reports and select Call Number Reports.
2. If you are a district library materials manager or reports creator, select an individual library from the For list.
3. From the Show list, select the report you want.
4. For Copies with different call numbers or Copies without call numbers, enter a range of titles.
   Please note that Destiny does not support the use of wildcards (?, *) in ranges.
   • You can leave both boxes blank to include all titles.
   • If you leave the From box blank and enter a title in the to box, Destiny includes titles up to and including that title.
   • If you enter a title in the From box and leave the to box blank, Destiny includes that title and all those after it.
   • If you enter the same title in both boxes, Destiny includes that title.

What is included in a Copies with call number prefixes report?

This report lists all the call number prefixes in your collection.

It is grouped alphabetically by call number prefix.
Within each group, all the titles that have copies with that prefix are listed in alphabetical order.
Under each title are the barcodes, in numeric order, of each copy with that call number prefix, along with a link to edit the copy.
