If you want to limit the extent of your inventory, you can conduct a partial inventory, defined by a call number range. This allows you to scan just the copies in a particular section of your library. A complete sequence of partial inventories would equal a full inventory.
This option has the advantage of allowing you to exclude parts of your collection, such as textbooks, that you may not wish to inventory. You may find that preparing and scanning by sections makes the inventory process easier because it allows you to work in smaller sections. It will also be easier to retrace your steps if you experience any technical problems with your inventory, such as a power outage.
When you inventory your library by sections, you'll need to finalize each inventory after you have finished each section.
Your inventory reports will reflect each individual section.
Because you can have multiple inventories open at the same time, make sure to select the correct one before scanning.
Select this option if you wish to prepare and scan all of the materials in your collection.
Be aware that this option may include magazines, equipment, and textbooks, basically everything that you have cataloged in Destiny.
This option has the advantage that inventory reports include your entire collection.
